Langdale Pikes

from £30.00

While climbing Loughrigg Fell, I paused halfway to take in my surroundings and had a beautiful view of the Langdale peaks in the east. It was a cloudy day, but this has its advantages for the interesting pockets of light that form and shift across the landscape and works particularly well in mountainous terrain.

The Lake District naturally gives a wide expanse of scenery to work with, but for this shot I focused on an area that had several overlapping peaks to add more depth and scale to the photograph. While the base of the valley is shaded, the peaks are lit up, highlighting the different colour tones of the landscape.

Langdale Pikes is printed in high definition to accentuate all of the fine details of the topography of this beautiful area of the Lake District.
