Lake District Light

from £75.00

Under the midday sun I photographed the Grand Canal looking towards Venice's famous Rialto Bridge. The south facing buildings were basking in the glow of the high sun which saturates the left of this broad panoramic with warm colours. Using a neutral density filter on a long exposure, the canal is given a smooth glassy sheen, while the cooler shaded buildings channel the eye towards the distant bridge.

I shot this as a panoramic to emphasise the scale of the canal in comparison to the small intricate avenues of water that run through the city. The buildings are captured with crisp, pinsharp clarity, and Grand Canal Panoramic is printed in high definition to ensure every detail is captured.
