Praa Sands Sun Burst

from £30.00

Praa Sands has always been one of my favourite places to go and photograph the sunrise in the winter months. With a more southerly sunrise, the south coast can provide a very different drama to the summer mornings.

Battling through the harsher elements of winter, I found myself at Praa Sands waiting patiently for the sun to rise, not only did it have to come over the horzion, butit also had to climb over the headland of Rinsey at the far end of the beach. The winter sun has a much harsher glow and so the window to photograph it is small, using the headland to mask it’s power slightly, the sun still bursts over the land creating this dramatic landscape photograph.
