Land's End Descending Sun

from £30.00

Sunsets are often unpredictable and a bit of a waiting game in landscape photography. That was certainly the case on this particular day at Land’s End. There was a deep layer of thick cloud out on the horizon, and I had no idea whether it would lift or disperse as time ticked away.

Finally, I was rewarded by the sun dropping beneath the clouds and illuminating the horizon. It beautifully back lit the outline of Enys Dodnan arch as a central focal point, casting a yellow hue across the water. I shot this Land’s End sunset on a wide angle to give it added depth and include more of the surrounding coastline features. The thick, purplish clouds mute the landscape, and the shot is darker and moodier than some of my other work.

For more of my Land's End landscape photography, you can check out Land’s End Glowing Arch featuring a portrait shot of Enys Dodnan arch in close detail, Land’s End Light and Land’s End Rock.
