Hayle Harbour Two

from £100.00

The Hayle Harbour image is a moving photograph for anyone that loves the sea. These two weathered boats could tell many stories of adventures out at sea, now resting up in the river mouth of Hayle and Lelant, another day has drawn to an end as the sun sets, creating a beautiful sky.

I had noticed these two sea weary boats resting along the wall of the entrance to Hayle Harbour. I had an idea to capture this photograph for a while but I had to be patient and wait for the right conditions. In the height of summer, the sun would set in the perfect place directly behind the boats. This would allow them to be backlit. As well as needing good weather conditions at this time of year, low tide needed to correspond as I would not have been able to get there without an empty river mouth.

This gave me a slot of about 4 days to capture the image, if not I would have had to have waited for the next low tide, however by that point the sun would be too far over. Luckily on day four of four, the sky cleared and I was able to get myself into position to capture this glorious image.
