GODREVY PASSAGE USED AS FRONT COVER FOR CORNWALL LIVING’S SPECIAL LONDON EDITION

I’m really pleased to announce that my photograph, Godrevy Passage, has been chosen for the front cover of the London edition of Cornwall Living magazine. Written, designed and published in Cornwall, Cornwall Living shares the joys of Cornwall and is enjoyed by all those who have an affinity with the county and the Cornish lifestyle. Needless to say, it’s always such a rewarding experience seeing my images used in print media, though it’s especially rewarding when the image is close to my heart like this one.

The image chosen to feature on the front of the special London edition for Spring 2022, called Godrevy Passage, is a unique take on an iconic location. It offers a different perspective on one of the most famous views and lighthouses in the county – somewhere that all those who live in Cornwall or visit regularly will instantly recognise. Of course, it also happens to be my home turf, so it was a particular mission of mine to look for a slightly different way of capturing the scene and pulling the viewer into the picture.

When I came to take this landscape photograph at Godrevy in West Cornwall, the sun had already gone down. I had been wandering around the beach and between the rocks to find somewhere that would provide me with that unique perspective. When I eventually found this perfect gap in the rocks, I only had a matter of time to set up the camera as the light was disappearing fast and a strong wind was whistling through the passage. Thankfully, this long exposure delivered the results I was hoping for, with the soft lines of the rushing water beautifully contrasting with the harsh rocks and the gap perfectly framing Godrevy Lighthouse.

If you would like to enjoy your very own copy of Godrevy Passage, prints are available to buy here in various sizes and frames.
